Workshop Description

This workshop intents to discuss the major advancements on InSAR research and applications development and also to evaluate how InSAR products can be used for feeding Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for monitoring ground deformation and to interpret and validate the results.
The main objectives are to:
- Promote the presentation and discussion of results and contributions achieved by the InSAR community;
- Provide a forum to scientific exchange;
- Encourage close collaboration between research groups;
- Present latest InSAR results exploiting Sentinel-1 data and S-1A/B interferometry;
- Present news results from the lasted studies in the field;
- Present the Sentinel-1 mission status, algorithms and products;
- Assess the maturity of InSAR applications and the state of the art in the field;
- Provide an opportunity to introduce new missions in development, like Sentinels.

Some illustrative subjects that may be covered in the workshop are: man-made structures monitoring; the role of InSAR in environmental studies; change detection; measuring earthquake surface deformation; impact of long-term production of oil and gas or injection well operations; environmental hazard investigations of growth faults in urban areas; landslides; subsidence, etc.
